find me elsewhere:

Hi there! Welcome to our blog, a showcase of articles we are featured in, experiences, wedding, and travel tips. Stay a while and say hello!

Hi, I'm Claire.

What if it rains on my wedding ?

Our Tips

We all know the saying “rainy wedding, happy wedding,” but let’s admit that our main concern during that time is not the longevity of the couple. As a wedding planners with several years of experience, we have dealt with rainy days and even storms (yes, even in Provence). Here are some specific tips to ensure a smooth wedding despite bad weather.

Trust your planner and your wedding vendors, they are here for you!

We know.. You are gutted and disappointed, and trust us, so are we!!
And if we don’t feel responsible for the rain, we do feel responsible for the success of the event and the comfort of your guests.

As much as we want to make you happy, we cannot take the risk to set up outside if there is a chance for rain, and even if you are convinced that “the sky will clear up for sure!”.
Our role as wedding planners is to deliver a successful event that everybody will enjoy, and for all the vendors to be able to deliver their services properly and according to their contract.

We cannot have guests getting wet and cold, nor rentals and technical equipments getting damaged.
But be assured that your vendors team will go the extra mile to please you and make your day magical!

Always have a plan B ready that you like!

As a wedding professional, it is crucial to have a backup plan. Regardless of the wedding location, there is always a risk of rain. Therefore, it is important to prepare alternative options alongside your main plan. This prevents you from being caught off guard and ensures that your backup plan measures up to the original one. Even J-Lo had a backup plan and used it due to rain on her wedding day!

There are two primary options for a backup plan depending on the location and number of guests.

Indoors

If it rains all day and there is no possibility to host any activities outside, ideally, you should have at least two rooms available to accommodate all the wedding activities (ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and reception). If only the dinner and reception need to be moved indoors, one room should be sufficient. However, this option should only be considered if the venue has rooms large enough to accommodate all your guests.

A beautiful wedding tent

We’re not talking about a small backpacking tent here, but a beautiful, luxurious tent with a bohemian style. These tents can usually accommodate up to 300 guests and can be customized in various ways (e.g., parquet flooring, starry sky, dance floor). Using a tent as a backup plan is often preferred as it adds a touch of elegance to weddings and provides protection from both wind and cold temperatures.

Provide accessories for the rain and wear your best smile

It’s a good idea to have some accessories on hand for rainy weather, such as umbrellas, heel guards, or shawls to keep guests warm.

And don’t forget to wear your best smile! One of the key to success for the event is you and the energy you bring to your day.
We will never say it enough, smile and enjoy your day, it all goes so quickly!!

For all these reasons, it’s crucial to hire a wedding planner who can organize the most beautiful day of your life. They will take care of considering all these options for you. Don’t hesitate to contact us; we would be delighted to handle all these arrangements for you.
