A & J chose to have their wedding at the exquisite Bastide de Gordes, a luxurious hotel nestled in a breathtaking village. Their special day marked the first wedding of the season. The wedding took place at the same venue of the last wedding of 2022, and interestingly we had  similar weather conditions, maybe a bit better, than the last time.

The Welcome Dinner

To kick off the wedding festivities, a welcome dinner was organized at the hotel’s Asian restaurant. The space was exclusively reserved for the couple and their guests, and a bespoke menu was created to tantalize their taste buds. Despite the earlier downpour, the weather cleared up just in time for the event, and the dinner unfolded within the restaurant’s elegant and chic Asian-themed ambiance.

The Wedding Day 

The Ceremony

On the much-anticipated wedding day, the couple had planned to exchange vows amidst the beauty of the hotel’s gardens. However, the weather forecast predicted heavy rain, necessitating the implementation of a backup plan. As a solution, the ceremony was rescheduled two hours earlier, from 5pm to 3pm, which posed a considerable logistical challenge given the precisely orchestrated timeline. 

Unfortunately, as the new ceremony time approached, rain and even hail started pouring down. Undeterred, we swiftly rearranged the schedule, opting to hold the cocktail party under the sheltered arches until the rain subsided. Miraculously, around 4pm, the skies cleared, and the sun emerged to warmly greet the couple as they joyfully tied the knot in the radiant sunshine.

The bride, groom, guests, and service providers alike were overjoyed by this stroke of luck. Adding to the magical ambiance, Claude Costa’s talented musicians provided enchanting melodies throughout the ceremony. Additionally, a splendid floral arch adorned with shades of pink, white, and green, masterfully crafted by L’art Qui Pousse, created an exquisite backdrop for the couple’s vows.

The Cocktail

Due to the inclement weather, the cocktail party had to be divided into two parts. The initial part took place beneath the arches prior to the ceremony, providing a cozy and sheltered environment. The second part was moved to the gardens, where bamboo lounges and suspended garlands added a touch of natural elegance, illuminating the space with a warm glow.

The Dinner and the Party

As for the grand dinner, originally intended to be held outdoors, the safety of the guests became the priority. Thus, a decision was made to relocate the dinner to the stunning reception room situated alongside the garden—an equally enchanting Plan B. The meticulous attention to detail carried over into the decor, which echoed the color palette of the ceremony. The tables were adorned with chic floral arrangements, complemented by subtle touches of Terra Cota incorporated into the names and menus. The atmosphere was amazing as DJ Wildfire took the reins, ensuring an unforgettable evening filled with lively music and endless dancing, as the guests reveled in the joyous celebration of love.

A few words about La Bastide de Gordes 

La Bastide de Gordes is a 5 stars hotel of the Les Airelles group. Located in the heart of one of the most beautiful villages in France. This building dates back to the 18th century. It has kept its charm of yesteryear by preserving furniture and art of that time. Renovated with care, this place has kept its authenticity and its lordly grandeur. 
Perched at the top of the village of Gordes, on a rocky hillside, it offers a view of an incredible landscape with its surrounding villages, olive trees, Provencal forest, but especially the Luberon massif. 

HOW MANY GUEST CAN IT ACCOMMODATE?

The hotel has four houses with a total of 40 rooms and suites that combine authenticity, luxury and refinement. 
For events, the hotel can accommodate up to 180 people outside and 120 people inside.

TO KNOW ABOUT LA BASTIDE DE GORDES

La Bastide de Gordes is located 45 minutes from the airport and the train station of Avignon. 
It is also 1h30 from Marseille airport. 
It is possible to make a complete privatization of the place, but also a semi-privatization. However we recommend you to choose the complete one. 
The time limit to finish your wedding is 4 am, which leaves you plenty of time to party.
